Doodle Duel is a personal website. This policy explains what data is collected and how it's used.

Age

This website is not intended for children under 13.

What we collect

Account info: if you sign in with Google, we receive your Firebase user ID and basic profile info.
Profile: your display name and avatar reference stored in users/{uid} in Firestore.
Games & drawings metadata: game documents in games (prompt, timestamps, submission keys, judge results).
Likes: likes are stored in likes (a counter) and likes/{id}/users/{uid} (who liked).
Local storage / essential cookies: the site uses localStorage for small preferences (e.g. sort mode) and session-related UI state. Firebase/Google sign-in may use essential browser storage to keep you signed in.

Drawings & avatars storage

Drawings (and optionally avatars) are uploaded to Amazon S3 as private objects. The site displays them using time-limited signed URLs.

AI judging

If AI judging is enabled, the site sends the drawing images (via signed URLs) and the prompt to an AI service to generate critiques/scores for gameplay.

How we use data

To run the game: match players, store submissions, show gallery items.
To display likes and rankings in Explore and My Wall.
To prevent abuse and troubleshoot issues (basic logs on the server).

Sharing

We do not sell your data. Data may be processed by third-party providers used to run the site (Firebase/Google, Amazon S3, and the AI provider if enabled).

Cookies

We do not run ads and we do not use tracking/analytics cookies on purpose. If you sign in, Firebase/Google may use essential cookies/storage needed for authentication.

Retention

Game and drawing data may be kept until you request deletion.
